About Us

Welcome to the online portal of Bangladesh Collectors' Directory (BCD).

BCD is the digital edition of the printed directories published in 2015, 2016, and 2020. Directory-type books are usually large, heavy, and inconvenient to carry. Keeping this reality in mind, we decided to preserve and organize information through a digital platform.

Bangladesh Collectors' Directory is dedicated to archiving information on all types of collectors in Bangladesh through a centralized website. Any collector from Bangladesh can be included in this directory upon providing necessary verification—and participation is completely free.

Why is this website important?

Among the many small communities in Bangladesh, the collectors’ community holds a unique and significant place. This community includes people from diverse professions who have built remarkable collections over the years. These collections range from postage stamps, coins, matchboxes, and antique documents to antiques, ink pens, hookahs, postcards, phone cards, and many other items. Through their passion and dedication, collectors have carefully preserved fragments of history.

Across Bangladesh, there are an estimated two to three thousand collectors. Some collections are so extensive that they could easily form the foundation of a private archive or even a museum. Our primary goal is to document and archive information about these collectors by creating a well-structured digital database, ensuring that future generations can learn about these extraordinary individuals.

BCD is not limited to collecting data on collectors alone. The platform will also archive and regularly update information related to hobbies, collections, collectors, dealers, collectors’ groups, clubs, auctions, and museum listings.

What makes BCD unique?

This is a natural question. We have always viewed hobbies and collecting as an art form. From that perspective, BCD is introducing a new concept to the collectors’ community—the Collectors' ID Card—a concept that is likely being implemented for the first time.

This ID card will serve as an official identity for collectors. It will contain all essential information about a collector, accessible through a simple scan. Both locally and internationally—especially in contexts related to collecting and hobby-related activities—this card can provide valuable support.

Imagine carrying collectible items and facing unnecessary questioning or misunderstanding. In such moments, this card may help others recognize that you are not just carrying objects—you are a collector, a custodian of history.

We welcome you to this vast world of hobbies, collections, and history.

Thank you for being with us.
