Md. Faridul Islam

My name is Farid, and I am a dedicated collector of coins and banknotes. My journey into the world of collecting actually began in my childhood with postage stamps. However, due to a break in my collecting journey over the years, my interests evolved. Today, that passion has found a new home in numismatics - specifically the collection of old coins and banknotes.

I have developed a specialized interest in 1 - denomination notes, such as the 1 Taka, Dollar, Pound, and Lira etc. There is something uniquely poetic about the "number one" note of any country; it is the fundamental unit of an economy. My greatest passion, however, lies in the currency of Bangladesh. I take immense pride in hunting for these notes in UNC (Uncirculated) condition, preserving them so they look as brand new as the day they were issued.

To me, the old banknotes of Bangladesh are not just currency; they are historical documents. Each note represents a particular era, reflecting the shifting tides of our society and politics. I am deeply fascinated by the intricate designs, the evolution of security features, and the cultural symbols depicted on these notes. They tell a story of who we were and how far we have come.

I believe that collecting old coins and banknotes holds immense historical and cultural value. Every piece in my collection is a silent witness to a specific moment in time - carrying its own history of struggles, cultural shifts, and political changes. Through these notes and coins, I am gathering a snapshot of human history. For me, this is more than just a hobby; it is a valuable legacy that I am committed to preserving and passing on to future generations.
