I am originally from Kaliganj, Satkhira, and I now live in Mirpur-02, Dhaka. My interest in collecting started in 2019 through my brother, Aakib Ahamed. When he was younger, he collected coins from friends, relatives, and even by digging in the ground. Eventually, his interest faded, but I took over his collection and began to take it seriously.
The "Preservation" Vision:
In the beginning 2019, Our mission was to locate and preserve coins from British India, East & West Pakistan, and early Bangladesh, ensuring that these tangible pieces of our regional history are saved for future generations of collectors.
The "Expertise" Mission:
We dedicated ourselves to sourcing authentic coinage from British India, East & West Pakistan, and early Bangladesh with the vision of providing collectors a reliable gateway to the diverse monetary heritage of the Sub-continent. After setting our vision and mission, My brother and I started and used to travel all over Satkhira and many other districts on our father’s motorcycle to find old coins. During this time, my brother met Tuhin Ahmed (who lives in America); he bought a coin from us and later became our mentor, guiding us on how to identify and understand different coins. We eventually built a large collection and started selling to other collectors, which we still do today through our business, Old Coins and Philately BD.
I studied in the Finance at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) and I am a Lifetime Member of the Khulna Collector’s Society. My main interests are coins from the Indian Sub-Continent and World Postage Stamps (both definitive and commemorative). I am passionate about finding authentic items and helping other collectors grow their own collections.
