I am Jakaria Hossain Shawan, a tourism entrepreneur and passionate collector from Bangladesh. I am involved in the tourism industry, with a particular interest in promoting travel, nature, heritage, and local culture.
My passion for collecting grew from my curiosity about history and the stories preserved in everyday objects. For me, collecting is not simply about owning old items—it is about preserving memories, discovering history, and appreciating the art, design, culture, and heritage represented by each piece.
As a collector, I have a special interest in matchboxes, coins, banknotes, and postage stamps. Matchboxes particularly fascinate me because their small labels often reflect the history, businesses, people, places, art, and culture of a particular period.
Through collecting, I hope to preserve these small pieces of history and contribute to creating greater awareness of Bangladesh's rich cultural and industrial heritage.
