I began my collecting journey during my school years, when my father gave me a few coins and banknotes from different countries. That small beginning sparked a lasting passion. Over time, my collection grew through relatives returning from overseas, local shop discoveries, and countless moments of curiosity that led me to preserve old and forgotten currency. My family and friends, especially my mother, noticed my dedication and would often give me coins or banknotes whenever they came across something interesting, a support that continues to this day. I also actively collect from the Gulistan local currency market, where many important additions to my collection have been found.
Today, my collection represents over 100 countries and more than 120 issuers, with special focus on British colonial period coins, Pakistan period currency, and a complete range of Bangladeshi currency. I also collect World War II era coins from different countries, reflecting a pivotal moment in global history. In addition, I preserve historical forms of currency used in Bengal, including traditional cowrie shells and locally known cheese ant coins, which reflect early and transitional monetary practices in the region.
For me, numismatics is more than a hobby. It is a lifelong journey of understanding history through money and preserving the material memory of different civilizations and eras.
