About My Collection Journey:
My journey as a collector began in 2007, during my childhood, with a simple yet meaningful fascination for coins. The first pieces of my collection came from my father and my Nanu, making those early additions not just objects, but memories tied to family and heritage. What started as a small personal interest gradually grew into a deeper curiosity, leading me to expand my collection thematically.
Around 2013, I’ve moved to Dhaka, when I began to approach collecting more seriously. I met with one of my varsity senior who introduced me with different auctions held in Bangladesh (i.e: BNCS Auction, Collector Auction). It was then that I realized the importance of direction and purpose in building a meaningful collection. This marked the beginning of my thematic approach. I focused first on Bangladesh banknotes, studying their history, design evolution, and variations. Over time, my interest naturally extended to Pakistan banknotes from the period 1947 to 1974—an era that holds significant historical relevance to Bangladesh.
My collection is centered on banknotes that have circulated in the region of present-day Bangladesh, covering the timeline from 1947 to the present. I have worked meticulously to document and acquire notes based on their design variations and signature combinations. Today, I am proud to say that I have nearly completed this aspect of my collection.
What began as a childhood interest has evolved into a dedicated and structured pursuit—one that reflects not only my passion for numismatics but also my desire to preserve the monetary history connected to Bangladesh and its past.
