 Eyeglasses on Banknotes

A dedicated numismatic collector, especially a banknote collector usually chooses a specific theme for his collection. That theme is entirely based on his personal preference and depends on historical and collective values. Regarding banknotes issued by the central banks of different countries, the available collectible theme is often limited, forcing the collector either to collect the contemporary banknotes in a particular theme or lean towards the older issues. But the interesting fact is that with such a small window, there are still some amazing themes available. A very interesting theme can be with the portraits or legends of historically significant figures portrayed on banknotes. Although such banknotes with figures are common, the figure wearing eyeglasses is mesmerizing. A brief history of bifocals and related eyeglasses technologies can be traced to the founding father of the United States of America, the respected Sir Benjamin Franklin (1707-1790) who was directly linked with developing bifocals, later fully credited for the invention. Let's enjoy my theme, "Eyeglasses on Banknotes".

I am Mohammod Afiz Uddin from Rangpur, Bangladesh. I have been affiliated with regular numismatics and philatelic collections for over 30 years. Although I have several themes for banknotes, I appreciate that the theme of 'eyeglasses on banknotes' is apparently an interesting one. I bumped into the eyeglasses theme solely from my father, he used to wear eyeglasses, so this theme keeps a deep sense of family connection with me.
