Satyajit Ghosh

I am Satyajit Ghosh, a banking professional by profession and a passionate collector by heart. My journey into numismatics and philately grew from a deep curiosity about history, culture, and forgotten narratives preserved through paper money, coins, stamps, and documents.

My collection focuses primarily on British India paper currency, coins from the Bengal Sultanate, Mughal period, Tripura and Assam—particularly those bearing Bengali inscriptions. Alongside numismatics, I actively collect stamps, postcards, registered letters from across the globe, and historically significant old documents.

In addition to collecting, I enjoy running, mountain exploration, photography, and travelling, which allow me to experience and document history and culture in unique ways.

I have a strong interest in coins bearing Arabic script, particularly in exploring, identifying, and reading their inscriptions. Alongside this, I am keenly interested in the Brahmi script and the evolution of the Bengali script as reflected on coins across different historical periods. Studying script development through numismatic evidence is an important and enjoyable part of my collecting journey.
