Ever since I was in class five or six, I've always loved collecting random little things. Back then, it was bottle caps from cold drinks, colorful chocolate wrappers, and pictures I cut out from newspapers & magazines. I even started collecting stamps later on. Unfortunately, I lost all of those childhood collections by the time I went to college, but my habit of collecting never really stopped.
The big change happened years later when I was browsing the internet and found a website about matchbox collecting. I had no idea matchboxes could be a serious hobby! Looking at those vintage designs felt really special and sparked my interest right away. That moment started my current collection, which now has over a thousand matchboxes from more than 25 countries.
Other than matchboxes, I also love collecting different kinds of paper items and historical things. I have almost every single postage stamp, first day covers ever released in Bangladesh, plus some foreign stamps featuring famous landmarks and important people. My collecting doesn't stop at stamps—I also look for old documents, prize bonds, Bangladeshi notes and coins, event tickets, blade boxes, bank deposit slips from every bank in the country, and both old and new non-judicial stamps.
Some people might say a true collector should stick to just one specific item. But I don't follow those rules. I collect whatever I like simply because every piece has a story and makes me happy.
